Academy of Finance
The Academy of Finance program has been developed in partnership
with the National Academy Foundation for Financial Services, major
corporations, and banks which provide technical expertise and
special resources to enhance the educational experiences of the
student. This partnership links the resources of business,
education, and community.
The National Academy Foundation (NAF) is a nonprofit
organization established in 1989 to design and support academic
programs for high schools. NAF designs industry-related
curricula to enrich the resources and opportunities available
to high school students. NAF programs enables students to set
personal goals and establish career plans in expanding industries.
This is a two-to-four year course focused on the
financial services industry. This program integrates
classroom instruction with workplace experience. It allows
students to achieve the understanding and practical skills
they will need to begin careers in the financial services
industry or to go on to college with a financial service major.
An important feature is a paid
summer internship, mentoring
from industry professionals and career shadowing.
